Remuna: In a gruesome incident, a man beat his cousin to death over a land dispute at Durgadevi under Remuna police limits in Balasore district Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified as Phabu Singh (48), said IIC Parsuram Sahu. His wife Sumit Singh alleged that when Phabu was returning home from Durgadevi bazaar in the evening. Indra Singh, Phabu’s cousin, was hiding at a place on the way.
At about 8 pm, Indra hit Phabu repeatedly on his head with a lathi, leaving the latter dead. Then, the accused surrendered before the local police and confessed to his crime.
Police with a forensic team rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
