Maoist posters triggers panic in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, May 5: Panic gripped several parts of this district Saturday after a large number of Maoist banners and posters appealing people for the grand celebration of the 200th birth anniversary of the revolutionary socialist Karl Marx which falls this year, were sighted at various pockets.

Released in the name of Kalimela Area Committee of CPI (Maoist) group, the banners were seen put up on roadside trees. In them, the reds have dubbed Marx’s socialism as a catalyst in maintaining equality in the society.

They also asked the people to join them in the fight for people’s rights through the poster. On the other hand, the police are yet to seize the posters, it was learnt.

Locals apprehended the Maoists would resort to a series of violent activities ahead of the celebration of Marx’s birth anniversary.
