New Delhi: Marvel Studios has released five new posters for its upcoming superhero film Avengers: Doomsday, putting the spotlight on Robert Downey Jr’s antagonist Doctor Doom.
The new posters highlight different theatrical viewing formats — 4DX, RealD 3D, ScreenX, Dolby Cinema and Infinity Vision — and offer fresh looks at the masked supervillain in his signature green hood and metallic armour.
One of the posters shows Doctor Doom standing alongside three mysterious hooded figures.
All five posters carry the film’s December 17 theatrical release date and list English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu as the release languages.
Avengers: Doomsday marks the return of Downey Jr to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a different role after his celebrated portrayal of Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

Doctor Doom, whose real name is Victor von Doom, is one of Marvel Comics’ most prominent villains, known for his scientific genius, mastery of sorcery and rule over the fictional nation of Latveria.
Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth instalment in Marvel Studios’ Avengers franchise and a key chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Multiverse Saga.
The film brings together superheroes from different corners of the Marvel universe, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and Wakandan heroes as they face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
The movie marks the return of filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo to the Avengers franchise. The brothers previously directed Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
The ensemble cast also includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Hayley Atwell, Tom Hiddleston, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour and Lewis Pullman.
