Bhawanipatna: A mild earthquake measuring 4.1 was felt in several places of Odisha’s Kalahandi district Wednesday evening, officials said.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the tremor was recorded at 7.42 pm. Its epicentre was located at a latitude of 19.729 degrees North and a longitude of 82.599 degrees East, at a depth of 24 kilometres beneath the Earth’s surface.
The quake was felt for a few seconds at Dharmagada, Junagarh, Koksara, Thuamul Rampur and Bhawanipatna blocks of the district.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property from the affected areas, officials said.
