Rourkela: Sexual offences on minors continue unabated despite stringent laws. Three persons have been accused of gangraping a minor in Sector-7 of this city, September 22. Even though the incident took place a week back, the matter came to light when the victim lodged a complaint with the police late Saturday evening. The police have detained all the three accused and a probe in on.
According to the complaint, the girl had been to a temple. On her way back home, she was waylaid by three youths. They then took her forcibly to a secluded place and outraged her modesty.
Notably, a 22-year-old nursing college student was gangraped in a forest near Junagarh in Kalahandi district September 14. Coincidently, the day when she lodged the complaint, September 22, the same day the modesty of the minor in Rourkela was outraged.
