Balasore: A crowd of villagers Wednesday awarded “justice” to a couple in Ketakajhuri village under Ramchandrapur panchayat in Oupada block for their alleged extra-marital affair. They were tied to a tree and thrashed.
The irate villagers cut the woman’s hair, tonsured the man, and paraded them in the village with beating of drums. The whole act was video-graphed.
The man was Pitambar Das, 35, married to another woman, from neighbouring Jagannathpur village. The woman was a mother of two.
Villagers caught the two while they were allegedly engaged in sex in a house. They dragged the two out, and humiliated them in a crude way. No police complaint was filed.
