New Srimandir panel meets CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar: The newly formed Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Monday at Lok Seva Bhawan to express gratitude for their appointments and discuss key initiatives for better temple management.

During the meeting, members highlighted the need for more systematic and disciplined conduct of rituals and festivals, alongside accelerated development of Puri as a spiritual and tourist hub. The CM assured full government support, reaffirming the state’s commitment to developing Puri as a premier religious destination with enhanced facilities for devotees and visitors.

Prominent committee members present included Krushna Chandra Samantray, Raghubir Das, Ramnarayan Gochhikar, Madhusudan Singhari, and Jagannath Pujapanda, among others. The committee, chaired by Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb, will hold its first official meeting September 3.

Key agenda items include implementing the ‘Dhadi Darshan’ queue system to streamline temple visits, discussing the relocation of the ‘hundi’ inside the Natya Mandap, and conducting the long-awaited inventory of the Ratna Bhandar (temple treasury).

The 10-member committee includes Siddheswar Mohapatra, Ganesh Dasmohapatra, Maharaj of Balaramkot Matha (representing Math & other institutions), Girish Chandra Murmu (former CAG), K Sabat (Chartered Accountant), and Mahesh Kumar Sahoo.
