Bhubaneswar: Showing solidarity with the states facing acute shortage of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) during the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak, Odisha government has so far sent 135 tankers carrying 2516.883 metric tonne (MT) of the life-saving gas to eight states.
According to the information available with Orissa POST, the eight states that have received LMO from Odisha are Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.

As of April 29, Andhra Pradesh has so far received the highest quantity of the gas at 889.55MT in 42 tankers, followed by Telangana (655.929MT in 38 tankers), Madhya Pradesh (270.85MT in 18 tankers), Haryana (216.092MT in nine tankers), Uttar Pradesh (212.26MT in 12 tankers), Maharashtra (112.06MT in six tankers), Chhattisgarh (106.681MT in seven tankers) and Tamil Nadu (53.46MT in three tankers).
These tankers were loaded at oxygen plants in Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Sundargarh districts.
The lion’s share of medical oxygen – 1049.302MT was sent in 55 tankers from Rourkela in Sundargarh district. A total of 792.55MT, 300.12MT and 374.91MT of medical oxygen were sent in 38, 19 and 23 tankers from Jajpur, Angul and Dhenkanal districts respectively.
