Odisha weather alert June 27: Very heavy rainfall likely in these districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert June 27 issued various warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8:30 AM of June 28: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nuapada, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Balasore districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of interior Odisha, Balasore and at many places over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8:30 AM of June 28 to 8:30 AM of June 29: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and at a few places over the remaining districts of the state.

Under the influence of strong monsoon flow and low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching upto 40 to 50kmph is very likely to prevail along and off Odisha coast and northwest Bay of Bengal over the next 24 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast over the next 24 hours.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 32 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 32.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Chandbali and Chatrapur while the lowest minimum temperature of 19.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Nabarangpur, the weather alert of June 27 informed.
