Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Sunday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 8: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj districts, the IMD bulletin stated.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Gajapati districts and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Besides, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of May 8 to 8.30 AM of May 9: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.
Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise gradually by 2 to 4 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha and no large change thereafter.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunder or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 38 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
