Rayagada: A car that was parked near Chekaguda, on the other side of the hanging bridge here, Monday caught fire due to an electric short circuit.
However, no one was injured in the mishap. On being alerted, fire officials Pratap Chandra Jena, Rajesh Kumar Sethi, Ramakanta Pradhan and others rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
According to reports, B Amarnath, the owner of the car, along with his friends came to Rayagada town for sightseeing. The car suddenly caught fire due to a technical glitch when Amarnath and others were enjoying the natural scenery on the other side of the hanging bridge. They immediately alerted the fire brigade.
