Nayagarh: A physically-challenged minor was allegedly raped by a 48-year-old man at Itamati village in Nayagarh district. A complaint has been lodged by parents of the survivor at Itamati police station Thursday saying accused Duryadhan Sahu raped and impregnated their daughter. Police arrested the accused.
“The accused has confessed to the crime before the gram panchayat. He will be forwarded to court. A medical examination of the girl would be held after which she will be kept in a short stay home,” the officer said.
Sahu allegedly raped the girl when she was alone at home. The girl’s father, a daily-wager, was out on some work. Though the incident took place four months ago, the matter came to the fore after her parents found she was pregnant.
