New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi September 17. The event brings together global semiconductor leaders, policymakers, researchers, and startups — assuming key significance for Odisha as it positions itself as an emerging electronics hub in eastern India.
The three-day conference, running through September 19, will offer a platform for India to showcase its growing capabilities across the semiconductor and electronics value chain while seeking fresh investments, technology partnerships, and supply-chain linkages.
Organised jointly by the India Semiconductor Mission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and global industry association SEMI, SEMICON India 2026 carries the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.”
Highlighting the importance of the event, SEMI India President Ashok Chandak said, “Semicon 1.0 has moved from policy intent to projects and, importantly, to the first commercial production; Semicon 2.0 now gives us the opportunity to scale this momentum across the wider ecosystem.”
More than 600 exhibitors, 300 international companies, and representatives from over 50 countries will participate, underscoring India’s growing role as a trusted global semiconductor partner.
Odisha will highlight its expanding semiconductor ecosystem, specifically opportunities in compound semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, and chip design.
Major projects by SiCSem and 3D Glass Solutions are already under development at Info Valley in Khordha, anchoring the state’s ambitions to build a broader industry hub.
