Balasore: Police Thursday claimed to have busted a sex racket and detained four persons at Nahanjara village near Singla in this district.
A raid was held on the house, following which four persons including a girl and the owner of the house were detained. Cops also seized some “objectionable” items from the house.
Those present at the house during the raid were house owner Mnaoranjan Pradhan, his wife, a girl and a customer.
“On getting information about the illegal activities, a team was formed and it swooped down on the house and successfully nabbed these persons. Investigations are on to trace more people connected with the racket”, a police officer said.
May 19, the police had busted a high-profile sex racket running in the guise of a spa at Bapuji Nagar in Bhubaneswar. Seven persons were arrested from the spot and eight Thai women “rescued”. The special squad of the city police also busted another prostitution racket at Gajapati Nagar in the capital May 18 and “rescued” three girls. Three youths were arrested in this connection.
