Bant: Amid allegation of irregularities in rice supply to Bant block in Bhadrak district, a special squad of the civil supplies department conducted a raid on a rice godown here two days ago and found 1400 bags of rice short from the stock.
Saturday, a state-level team checked the rice stock in the godown. However, the team refused to reveal if the stock was okay or not. The officials explained that their check was routine.
During the check, assistant civil supplies officer Kedarnath Nayak and block civil supplies Sushant Kumar Sahu were present. Various quarters have demanded a high-level probe into the rice irregularities.
