Kendrapara: Gangster Tito alias Sayed Ushman Ali was produced in the SDJM court of Kendrapara Monday by Crime Branch’s STF DSP, Ramchandra Thamb, with tight security after his five days of remand ended Monday. Later, DSP Thamb filed a petition with the SDJM, Nihar Ranjan Sahu, requesting another 10 days of remand for Tito.
But SDJM Niranjan Sahu Monday allowed the STF to take Tito in remand for another four days and asked the police to produce him in court July 13 before 4 pm, said DSP Thamb.
While going to Bhubaneswar with tight security, Tito told the media that he is going to open a Pandora’s box and that would put many in trouble. He asked reporters to wait for some more days for the right time to come and he would expose everything before the media.
It may be noted that July 4 Tito was remanded for five days by STF personnel and the STF raided several commercial and residential premises owned by Tito and his associates. After the raids, the premises were sealed in connection with the case.
Many incriminating documents and details of transactions of Tito were uncovered and some are being investigated. The process has been initiated to freeze the bank accounts of Tito and his associates. The house of Tito was searched and six cheque books and one passbook were seized Friday.
The offices of Tito and his brother Sappo were searched and many incriminating articles were found. Seventeen tippers and one trailer and eight excavators were seized from the yard of Benazir Infrastructure Private Ltd.
During the investigation it was found that Tito has property worth Rs 1.5 crore in Kolkota and that his wife Benazir Bibi had transferred Rs 66 lakh from her account to Tito in 2016.
STF sources said that during the five days of remand, it managed to unearth Tito’s properties worth around Rs 100 crore.
Meanwhile, the STF has been probing Tito’s property and businesses in and outside the state to establish his financial status. The STF is also going to probe Tito’s sources of finance for making Oriya film ‘Biswanath’ which was earlier scheduled to be released during Ganesh Puja.
On Sunday night, the STF produced Tito’s henchman, Sk. Channo, who was taken on five days remand for interrogation, in the SDJM court and he was sent to Kendrapara sub jail.
