Bargarh: The Sadar police Friday arrested three persons on a charge of chopping off a man’s genitals, at Nileswar village in the district. The arrested included the victim’s elder brother and sister-in-law.
Preliminary investigation showed there existed a family feud. The victim was Ashok Barik (40) while the accused were his elder brother Seba Barik (55), sister-in-law Shanti Barik (45) as also their aide Sudam Sahu (19).
Police produced the three in court. They were remanded to judicial custody after the court rejected their bail pleas.
According to police, a rift prevailed between the two brothers over some family issue. Seba and his wife hatched a plan to eliminate Ashok and hired Sudam to do the job.
As per plan, Sudam strayed into Ashok’s room while he was asleep. First, he tried to slit his throat, but failed. So, he chopped off Ashok’s private parts, police told the court.
