Trees fallen during Nor’wester rain cause road blockade

Mathili (Malkangiri): The selfie fever has caught up with fire tender personnel too, and to strange depths. Firemen were called at Dalapatiguda panchayat to remove a road blockade caused due to a tree fall during the Nor’wester rain. They started by clicking selfies with the fallen trees, and showed no interest in the removal of the trees or restoration of traffic on the road.

According to locals, a tamarind tree fell due to gusty surface winds. This caused a road blockade. Locals tried to remove it, but faced difficulty. Then they called the firemen.

On arrival, instead of removing the tree from the road, the men in uniform stood close to the tree and started taking selfies. They left the scene without removing the tree from the road, apparently sensing that it was a tough task to them.
