Under-trial escapes from hospital toilet, nabbed again

Escaped UTP nabbed

Bhubaneswar: After a frantic search, police Saturday night arrested an under-trial who escaped by breaking the toilet window while undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital here.

The accused was identified as Prithviraj Guru alias Vicky. He had several cases of extortion, murder bid, loot and other criminal cases against his name in various police stations.

According to reports, the Airfield police arrested Vicky from Panchagaon area on the outskirts of the Capital city Saturday morning after a raid.

Since he had sustained an injury on his head, the police brought him to the Capital Hospital for medical examination. When he said he wanted to go to the bathroom, the constables allowed him to use the toilet in the hospital.

However, he managed to escape by breaking the window glass of the toilet.

After failing to find Vicky inside the toilet, the police team once again launched a manhunt.

Later, acting on a tip-off, a team of police raided Vicky’s residence at Panchgaon and arrested him once again. He was then taken to the Airfield police station where he had been interrogated in connection with the crimes he was involved in.
