Video: Helpless father begs sanitary pads for daughter; fumes at IndiGo staff

IndiGo flight cancellations, primarily caused by crew shortages, have disrupted travel plans for thousands, leaving passengers stranded for hours. As frustration grew, several videos showing chaotic scenes at airports surfaced across social media.

One clip, in particular, has sparked widespread outrage. In the viral video, a father is seen crying and pleading for sanitary pads for his daughter. Despite his repeated requests to airport staff, no one responds to his appeal. Bystanders also appear to ignore him, further fueling anger online.

The video, shared on X by the account @grafidon, reportedly emerged after an IndiGo flight was delayed. As passengers attempted to engage with staff over the delay, the distressed father can be heard shouting for help, saying his daughter is unwell and urgently needs a sanitary pad. The lack of assistance from either staff or fellow passengers has drawn sharp criticism.

Social media users reacted strongly, condemning both the airline and broader societal apathy. “How sad this is,” one user wrote. Another commented angrily, “What better days could we ask for?” Some blamed the system and governance, with one user saying, “If people had questioned the government more, this situation wouldn’t have arisen.” Another warned, “Scenes like this will continue in India’s democracy.”

Highlighting the father’s distress, a user wrote, “Imagine how helpless he must be to shout this in front of everyone, and yet not a single person came forward to help.”
