Bhubaneswar: A special task force (STF) of the state Crime Branch Wednesday detained a 28-year-old criminal wanted in dacoity and murder cases since 2015.
Sangaram Kesheri Samantray, a resident of Dopada village under Ramachandi police limits in Puri, has been detained during a raid near Ravi Talkies area here.
“Two non-bailable warrants (NBWs) are pending against Samantray with Ramachandi police. Besides, he is also wanted by a court in Angul and was evading arrest since 2015. The accused was part of a dreaded inter-district gang involved in hijacking aluminum loaded trucks and murdering drivers to steal the consignment,” a senior police official said, adding that Samantray will be handed over to Ramachandi police for further legal action.
