Weather report July 16: IMD Bhubaneswar forecasts heavy rainfall for next two days in these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert of July 16 issued an Orange Warning for very heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of July 17: As per the Orange Warning (be prepared), heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Bolangir and Deogarh districts.

Impact and action suggested by IMD:

  1. Temporarily water logging is likely in low-lying areas.
  2. Poor visibility during intense spells of rain and traffic congestion in urban areas.
  3. Possibility of wall collapse of vulnerable kutcha houses.
  4. Traffic advisory may be issued for movement in your destination.
  5. Arrangements for drainage of excess water from nursery bed and preparations for sowing of paddy crops may be done.

As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of July 17 to 8.30 AM of July 18: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi and Bargarh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri and at many places over the remaining districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 28 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 34.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Jagatsinghpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 19.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh, the weather bulletin of July 16 informed.
