Have you ever wondered why females do not have pockets on their shirts?
Here are the reasons:
While Men have pockets on their shirts and they are used to having it, female counterparts do not have pockets on their shirts.
First reason is that women need to carry a lot more things than men do. And to keep these stuffs, they usually carry a handbag. Hence, having pocket on their shirts is a waste.
On the other hand men always need to carry a pen or at best some pieces of paper for which a pocket is sufficient.
Secondly, they do not want to have pockets in front of their shirts. If they had pockets, it would draw attention, making them feel awkward.
Whenever some fashion designers have tried providing pockets in ladies’ shirts, they have been rejected. Even if their clothes have pockets, they are so small that they cannot be called pockets. They are for show only.
Pockets on the pants are however a feasible option for the working class women which are seen in the power dresses. However women generally prefer hand bags and clutches and they have become indispensible accessories for them. The shirt pocket is thus like a vestigial organ and better to be left obsolete.
