Konark: The naked body of a woman was found near Jagannath temple here, in Puri district, Tuesday morning. Locals spotted the body in front of a pan shop, with a handkerchief tied around the neck. They alerted the police.
The woman was staying near the temple for the last five years and she was mentally challenged. It appeared that she was raped and killed. The body was sent for post-mortem.
A similar incident was reported from Berhampur in Ganjam district May 10 when the naked body of a woman with her legs tied was found on the roadside at Sorala Chhack there in the morning.
