Digapahandi: Police Saturday arrested a youth on the charge of assaulting a doctor in Digapahandi community health center here in Ganjam district. He was identified as Sibananda Dash of Padmanavpur village under this block.
According to reports, Sibananda had brought his elderly parents for medical check-up Thursday.
Sibananda was furious when he couldn’t find the doctor Y Yaswant Das. When the doctor arrived, Sibananda abused him, using filthy language.
This led to an altercation, following which an infuriated Sibananda thrashed the doctor.
Sibananda did not spare the doctor even when the latter had gone to the bathroom, according to the complaint.
Based on a complaint from the doctor, the police registered a case and arrested Sibananda.
He was then produced in a court and later remanded in Digapahandi sub-jail.
