Baripada: A youth was crushed to death under a speeding train near Ward No-14 level crossing in Baripada town in Mayurbhanj district Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Raju Bisoyi, a resident of Tulasi Choura area.
Raju had gone out of his home over some work last night. When he did not return home, his family members searched for him but couldn’t find him.
Later, some locals spotted his mutilated body on the railway track Monday morning. The Government Railway Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
A case of unnatural death was registered in this connection.
Police suspected that the victim might have come in front of the moving train under the influence of alcohol, leading to the tragedy.
