Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a youth allegedly stabbed a woman and her daughter while they were going to their tailoring shop at Danipali village under Ainthapali police limits here Friday. Following the incident, locals rescued the duo in critical condition and rushed them to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla where they are undergoing treatment.
According to sources, Indu Das and her daughter Payal were heading towards their shop when the accused identified as Suraj Hati attacked the mother-daughter duo with a knife. Sources said Suraj and Indu’s families are not on good terms and have been at loggerheads over a land dispute. Both Indu and Payal sustained grievous injuries on different parts of their body. A complaint in this regard was lodged at Ainthapali police station and police launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
