Bhuban: A 30-yearold man from Dhenkanal district who was critically injured in a tusker attack died Wednesday while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The deceased, Madan Behera of Basudevpur village under Bhuban police limits, was attacked by a tusker early Tuesday morning when he had stepped out of his house.
The elephant reportedly lifted and flung him with its trunk, causing severe internal injuries.
He was rescued and rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday.
Bhuban Ranger Rakesh Kumar Dalei assured that government assistance would be provided.
