Bhubaneswar: Three migrant workers from Odisha engaged in the laying of a pipeline along a trench in Velimela of Ramachandra Puram in Medak district of Telangana were buried alive as the wall of the trench collapsed on them Monday evening.
The deceased were Prakash Mahalik (21), Vikas Mahalik (20) and Manas Sahoo (20). Some co-workers approached the local police and lodged a written complaint, reports received here said.
As per the report, the workers were laying the pipeline along the trench in the premises of a school in Velimela. The school management had allegedly forced them to dig the narrow trench a bit deeper. This appeared to have resulted in the wall collapse. The bodies were extricated Tuesday morning. An investigation was on, police said.
