“What’s in a name?” wrote William Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet. Well there’s not much really but you still wouldn’t want to be named something so ridiculous that people laugh at your face. And it’s even worse if the only redeeming thing of the city or town you live in, is its hilarious name.

Nagina:
It is a town and a municipal board in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. Nagina is a word used for ‘Jewel’, it was named by the Syed’s who received this place as property from the Mughals.
Chhoti Khatu:
Chhoti Khatu is a town in Nagaur District of Rajasthan. The people of this town say that their ancestors didn’t have anything in mind while deciding the name of the city.
Bhattu Kalan:
Bhattu Kalan is a village panchayat located in the Fatehabad district of Haryana.
Badami:
Badami, formerly known as Vatapi, is a town and headquarters of a taluk by the same name, in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka.
Lotte Golla Halli:
It is located in Karnataka.
Daru:
It is a village in Daru CD block in Hazaribagh Sadar subdivision of the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. Despite its name, the place doesn’t offer free alcohol.
Kala Bakra:
It is a village that comes under the Bhogpur development block of Jalandhar district in Punjab.
