Angul: Several students studying at a private coaching institute in Chhendipada police limits of Angul district were allegedly beaten up by a staff of the centre, a video being shared widely on social media platforms suggested Saturday.
However, when the video was shot is yet to be ascertained.
According to a source as many as four students – who stay at a hostel of the coaching centre — were beaten up with sticks by the coaching center’s staff as they woke up late.
The source added that the students were allegedly compelled to wake up at around 3.00am. They were directed to study after waking up to secure good marks in the examinations.
The four students were roughed up as they failed to wake up on time, added the source.

Following instructions from the District Child Protection Officer, an investigation into the matter was carried out by Childline and the Child Welfare Committee. After visiting the spot, Childline officials proceeded to lodge an FIR in this regard at Chhendipada Police Station.
