Bhubaneswar: A key review meeting of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) was held at Ekamra Hall in the premises of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters.

The meeting covered the Ekamra, North, Central and Jatni Assembly constituencies under Bhubaneswar Assembly segment.

The meeting was chaired by State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) RS Gopalan, who briefed the BLOs and supervisors on the ongoing electoral roll revision process.

He emphasised the inclusion of new voters, deletion of names of deceased and shifted voters, verification of data, door-to-door surveys, and preparation of an error-free voter list.

Additional CEO Sushant Kumar Mishra stressed the importance of achieving 100 per cent coverage in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) mapping process through house-to-house verification.

He directed officials to conduct daily reviews at the booth level and submit progress reports to the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Additional Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).

Special attention should be given to booths with low mapping percentages to ensure complete coverage, he said.

Discussions were also held on organising local camps and involving ASHA workers and corporators to spread awareness and accelerate the mapping process in their respective areas.

Officials advised that greater awareness be created among voters regarding the SIR process.

Citizens were encouraged to download the ECI Net app and use the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ feature to clarify doubts related to their voter details and mapping status.

BLOs were instructed to carry out their duties with utmost vigilance, transparency and impartiality.

Emphasis was laid on completing all election-related tasks within the stipulated timeline to avoid any discrepancies.

The meeting was attended by Khurda additional district magistrate Pratap Chandra Beura, deputy CEO Laxmi Prasad Sahu, along with electoral registration officers and additional electoral registration officers.
