Sambalpur: Police recovered bodies of a woman and her two daughters aged about six years from a well at Kinaloi village under Katarbaga police limits in Sambalpur district Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Tikeswari Bhoi (40).
All the families in the village were busy celebrating Nuakhai. Tikeswari’s family was no different. She did everything starting from cleaning her house to cooking food for the festival. She along with her family members celebrated the festival.
Surprisingly enough, she and her daughters were not found anywhere. Later their bodies were found floating in the nearby well.
Police and fire department were immediately contacted. Reaching the spot, police with the help of fire personnel fished out the bodies.
Registering an unnatural death case, police seized the bodies for post mortem. According to some local people, the woman along with her two daughters died by suicide and there may have been some strong reasons for her taking the extreme step. Some others said the woman was mentally unstable.
Police investigation is underway, it was learnt.
