Bhubaneswar: Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation has allotted land to 37 industrial units, including 24 major projects and 13 proposals aimed at promoting micro, small and medium enterprises, officials said on Thursday.
The IDCO Land Allotment Committee, headed by its chairperson Usha Padhee, approved the proposals at a meeting held on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by the corporation.
The decisions are expected to facilitate faster implementation of projects, create local employment opportunities and strengthen regional industrial and supply-chain ecosystems across the state, it said.
To ensure the availability of infrastructure required for the smooth functioning of industrial units, Padhee recently inspected emerging industrial estates and strategic industrial corridors in Khordha, Kataka and Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur district, among other locations.
During the field visits, she assessed industrial infrastructure and project readiness, including land development and grading, master planning, power and water supply, connectivity, dedicated freight movement and other essential civic infrastructure, the statement said.
Particular attention is being given to worker-centric facilities and safe and accessible infrastructure to support the growing workforce, including women employees in manufacturing clusters, it said.
The approach is aimed at bridging the gap between administrative approval and actual project implementation, with field assessments helping identify infrastructure gaps in a timely manner and facilitating coordinated action by the concerned agencies, the statement added.
