Keonjhar: Additional District Judge-cum-Special POCSO Court Judge Monalisa Mohanty Wednesday sentenced a man of Nambira under Bamebari police station to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 after convicting him of having unnatural sex with a 10-year-old boy.
Non-payment of the penalty will attract an additional RI. The boy was going to take a bath in a nearby dam January 5, 2023, when convict Ranjit Sethi, who was also going to the dam, called him and took him to a secluded place where he committed the crime.
Ranjit threatened him against disclosing the matter to anyone.

However, a friend of the boy, who witnessed the incident, informed the victim’s mother, leading to a police case.
