Man held for posing as minister, threatening cop

Phulbani: Police Monday arrested a man for impersonating as a minister and threatening a police officer here in Kandhamal district.

A case was registered and he was produced in court. Later, he was remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected his bail plea. He was identified as Rajesh Kumar Das of Jagannathpur under Baidyanathpur police limits in Ganjam district.

According to sources, Rajesh called Sarangada IIC Chandmani Singh from an unknown number and threatened him. He posed himself as minister Bikram Arukh and threatened the IIC to transfer him to a remote area.
