Bhubaneswar, April 12: The Met department here has sustained the warning of thunder squalls accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 70 kmph to occur over a few parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
The weather officials have also predicted moderate to rather heavy rainfall to occur over many places of the state in the next 24 hours.
“Squally weather conditions will continue for the next 24 hours. We have also predicted moderate to heavy rainfall at many places over the state due to an active trough line that is prevailing over the state,” Met director Sarat Sahu said.
Many parts of the state recorded a decrease in temperature Sunday with highest temperature of 37.2 degree Celsius mapped in Bhawanipatna followed by 35.5 degree Celsius in Sundargarh and Titilagarh respectively.
Weather officials have also recorded rainfall of 19.8mm in Cuttack followed by 10.5mm in Keonjhar and 10mm in Dhenkanal and Bhawanipatna in the past 24 hours.
Weather experts have further predicted partly cloudy skies for the capital city and adjoining areas with chances of rain and thundershower in the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature over the temple city may remain around 33 degree Celsius while the minimum may remain as low as 22 degree Celsius Monday, Met officials said.
