Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation lies over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea extending up to 4.5kilometres above mean sea level, IMD Bhubaneswar stated in its October 17 weather bulletin.
The weather over many districts of Odisha is likely to remain dry till October 22. However, in the later phase of Durga Puja i.e. from October 23 to 27, coastal districts such as Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara are likely to experience rainfall.
Besides, districts such as Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Keonjhar are likely to experience rainfall from October 24 onwards, Sahu added.
Upto 8.30am of Oct 18: IMD forecast light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.
From 8.30am of Oct 18 to 8.30am of Oct 19: The weather agency informed that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.

The weather agency further predicted that no large change is expected in maximum and minimum temperatures over the districts of Odisha during the next five days.
In Bhubaneswar, over the next 24 hours, a mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon or evening is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 34 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius respectively.
