Balasore: Balasore police Monday arrested a 36-year-old man and seized 112.1 kilograms of cannabis from his possession during a raid. The accused has been identified as Maheswar Das, a resident of Begunia village under Sahadevkhunta police station limits.
Balasore Superintendent of Police Raj Prasad said the accused had been under surveillance for quite some time.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a rented house under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Area police station, where the contraband was discovered.

The police recovered 112.1 kg of ganja, packed in five cardboard cartons. The SP said Das was operating his drug trade under the guise of selling spices. He was arrested and produced in court after being booked under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
