Bhadrak: The family members of a rape victim accused the police of inaction against the accused at Bhandaripokhari in Bhadrak district. They took up the issue with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through a public grievances redressal cell.
The college student of SC community was allegedly kidnapped and raped at Nerada May 9. The family alleged that the police registered a complaint, but have not yet arrested the main accused Srikant Bal. The family members said their daughter and they don’t feel safe as the accused is roaming scot-free.
The family members had staged a dharna in front of the SP’s office April 20. Police officials had assured them with immediate action against the accused.
However, two weeks have passed the accused has not been arrested, the family members lamented.
