Bhadrak/Jagatsinghpur: President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Teachers’ Award 2023 to as many as 75 teachers Tuesday, including two from Odisha, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
The two teachers from Odisha are Subash Chandra Rout – a retired Headmaster of Brundaban Government High School at Markandapur village in Jagatsinghpur district and Sashi Sekhar Karsharma – Headmaster of Kenduapada Government High School in Bhadrak’s Bonth block.

According to a source, Subash Chandra Rout still adheres to his profession by teaching students at the school even after being officially retired from the job.
Sashi Sekhar Karsharma has been in the teaching profession for the last three decades and he uses modern technologies to make learning fun and easy in smart classrooms, the source added.
Both the teachers expressed their happiness after being shortlisted for this award.
Out of the 75 awardees, 50 are school teachers, 13 from higher education streams and the remaining 12 work under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. They will be felicitated at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
