Sundargarh: The town police Thursday evening produced two accused in a court for allegedly raping a woman at RRIT colony here Sunday.
The accused, identified as Sonu Munda (20) and Parshu Munda (48), were arrested and underwent a medical test Wednesday.
As per the victim’s complaint, taking advantage of her husband’s absence at home, Sonu and Parshu forcibly took her to a room near her house at about 12.30 pm Sunday and raped her. Later they threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone and fled the scene.
The victim narrated the act before the women in the village. By the time, her husband came to know about the incident. However, a village meeting was conducted to get the matter solved at the village level.
But hundreds of women in the village staged a demonstration Tuesday at the town police station, demanding the arrest of the accused.
