Bhadrak fisherman catches rare 22 kg fish

Bhadrak: A fisherman from Chandanipal of Dhamra in Bhadrak district had a rare catch Friday.

Giving him a surprise of lifetime, a rare variety of fish weighing 22 kg was caught alive in his net.

Out of curiosity, he brought the fish back to the village. As the news spread, villagers gathered to catch a glimpse of the fish which weighed 22 kilograms.

At first he was at loss thinking about what to do with the fish. However, he sold it to a trader for Rs 50,000. According to some, such variety of fish is found in the Pacific Ocean.

Notably, another fisherman from Chandanipal had caught a Ghol fish commonly known as ‘Teleia’ October 2 last year. The fish, which weighed 22 kilograms, had fetched him Rs 1,43,000 when he sold it off to a West Bengal trader.
