Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh visited the World Skill Centre (WSC) Thursday as part of his Odisha tour.

He praised the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the Odisha government’s efforts in promoting skill-based education for youth empowerment.

Singh toured key training facilities at WSC, including labs for Vertical Transportation, Mechatronics, Advanced Welding, and Mechanical & Electrical Services.

He also visited the Learning Resource Centre and interacted with students undergoing industry-focused training. Impressed by the Centre’s performance, Singh said, “WSC is a model for the future of vocational training in India.

While many states have skill centres, completing six successful batches with a 99 per cent placement rate is remarkable.

The Centre is not just skilling youth but also upskilling trainers, setting new standards in quality.” He further noted the WSC’s importance in preparing a job-ready workforce aligned with evolving industry needs.
