Duburi: A girl committed suicide by hanging at Kainjira village under Sukinda block in Jajpur district after she failed to clear the matriculation examinations the results of which were published Monday.
The deceased was identified as Lakshmipriya Mohanta, daughter of Gourahari Mohanta, and a student of Satyanarayan Memorial High School at Sansaile. Family members rushed her to a hospital where doctors pronounced her brought dead.
She had appeared for the examinations from Jagannath High School in Sukinda. She is believed to have taken the extreme step over her disappointing results.
Sukinda police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.
