Balasore: Two girls attempted suicide in Soro area of this district after their failure in passing the Plus II examinations. The results were declared Saturday. Both the students were rushed to the Soro community health centre in a critical condition.
Locals said a student of Talanagar Science College tried to kill herself by consuming poison in a field near her house at Pathanapada in the district. In the second case, a girl from the Surendranath College attempted suicide the same way after she failed in the exams.
She was rescued by her family members and hospitalised.
