Jajpur: A youth drowned in Brahmani river in Balipatna village near Kuakhia town in this district Sunday. The deceased was Deepak Kumar Sahu.
Locals said Deepak along with a friend went to the riverbank for a bath. He accidentally slipped into the water and drowned. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victim in a critical condition.
He was then rushed to the Jajpur district headquarters hospital (DHH) where he died while on treatment. Police sent the body for autopsy and launched a probe.
